About Texas Institute for Neurological Disorders

Texas Institute for Neurological Disorders began as Texoma Neurology Associates P A in 1978 in Denison, Texas when Dr. Easwar Sundaram Sr. decided to move his family to the Texoma area in order to start his Neurology practice, becoming the first Neurologists North of Dallas and South of Oklahoma City.

At that time Neuroscience was still in its infancy in this area.

Dr. Sundaram Sr. completed his neurology training in the UK and then returned to India where he became one of the first neurologist in that country. He authored several articles and was the former Professor and Chairman of Neurology at the Stanley Medical College in Madras, India.

He then moved to the USA initially to Chicago and Salt Lake City before settling down in North Texas with his family. He started the office with one employee and with hard work, dedication, and patient centered practice philosophy, he developed the practice to include all of the Texoma area. Even though this was small town USA, he offered state of the art neurological care and for the first time patients did not have to go to Dallas for neurological expertise.

After Dr. Sundaram Sr. passed away in 2001, the opportunity was passed on to Dr. Sundaram Jr. who has continued the legacy of state of the art care in the Neurosciences mixed with unbridled compassion and the important ideal of treating one patient at a time. The practice has flourished with the addition of valued team members and the most highly skilled physicians in the Neuroscience field. We have close to 20 providers and continue to grow rapidly. We are now one of the largest private practice neurology groups in the North Texas area.
